Safety checklist

Run this list once at pickup and once more before you unlock. It takes about ninety seconds, and it is the same check our staff perform on every vehicle before it leaves the rack.

Gear to wear on every ride

  • Helmet. Strapped and level, sitting just above your eyebrows. Helmets may be required by law; ride responsibly and follow all traffic rules.
  • Closed shoes. Flat soles grip the deck better than sandals or heels.
  • Visible clothing. A light layer or backpack helps drivers notice you in the evening.
  • Nothing loose. Scarves, long straps and open tote bags can catch on the handlebar or the wheel.

Inspect before you unlock

  1. Brakes. Squeeze both levers. They should stop the wheel firmly before the lever reaches the grip.
  2. Tyres. Press each tyre with your thumb. A soft tyre means a slow and unsteady ride.
  3. Battery and bars. Check the charge level on the display and confirm both grips are fixed and tight.
  4. Lights and bell. Switch the lights on for a second, then ring the bell once.
  5. Folding latch. If the stem folds, make sure the clamp is closed and locked.

E-bike and scooter riding involves risk of injury; use at your own judgement and stop riding if anything feels wrong. See our notes on local road rules and riding tips before your first trip.

Riding tips

Rules of the road for e-bikes and scooters in Ukrainian cities

An e-bike or scooter shares the road with cars, trams and pedestrians. Traffic in Ukraine drives on the right. Ride predictably, keep your speed modest, and treat every intersection as occupied until you can see clearly.

  1. Ride on the right. Keep to the right edge of the lane and move with the general traffic flow. Never travel against oncoming traffic.
  2. Helmets may be required by law. Ride responsibly and follow all traffic rules. A helmet is handed to you at pickup in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa.
  3. Watch for tram tracks. Cross the rails at a straight angle and at walking speed. Wet rails are the most common cause of falls in the old town.
  4. Signal your turns. Use hand signals and check behind you before changing lane, turning left or passing a parked car.
  5. Slow down on pavements. Where local signage allows pavement riding, keep to a walking pace and give pedestrians the right of way.
  6. Step off at crossings. Dismount and walk the vehicle across zebra crossings and through underpasses.
  7. Never ride under the influence. Alcohol or drugs behind the handlebar is an offence and cancels your insurance cover.
  8. Ride lit after dark. Switch on the front and rear lights and wear something reflective on unlit streets.
  9. Park without blocking. Leave the vehicle upright and clear of ramps, tactile paving and building entrances.

After a collision, call the police on 102 and our support line on +380 969 330 0640, then send us the report so we can help with the paperwork.

Risk & rental agreement

Ride at your own risk

Renting a scooter or e-bike in Kyiv is simple, but it is not risk-free. This section summarises the conditions you accept the moment you unlock a vehicle from one of our pickup points.

This summary is provided for convenience only. It does not replace the signed rental agreement, and every rental is governed by the laws of Ukraine.
